The modernization consists of a total replacement of the transmitter, receiver, visualization, antenna control system, positioning sensors and power supply system and expands the possibilities of the existing MRL-5 radar by the implementation of:

• coherent methods for dopler processing;

• digital receiver channel with analogue-digital transformation of the signal at intermediate frequency (30MHz);

• effective system for displaying the radar meteo-information on color displays;

• high-speed digital communications for transmission of the radar meteo-information.
